cam sensor
Another forum sent me to the experts here.....where is the cam sensor in my truck?? I have a 1994 turbo...7.3....direct injection....
and it shuts off while running and starts up again on its own.....I do not lose the radio or any lights...I call it a hic-up...the book I have does not show the sensor

I didn't know that IDI's had a cam position sensor, but if they do, it's likely in the same place as on a Powerstroke. It's on the front of the block. If you look at the block from under the truck, it's at the 10 o'clock position, in relation to the crankshaft. Lie with your feet wrapped around the driver's front tire, with your head under the passenger's side of the block, and look up. It's kinda tucked behind the serpentine belt, but it's there.
