checking ecm

I have a 88 f150, i can't seem to get a volt reading from the iac, also i changed and tried to check the tps and all i could get was 4.9 volts off the orange wire. the reason was to find out why it idled so high,i also tried to pull codes with no luck. Is this computer bad?? or where is all the grouds for the computer? any help would be appreciated. thanks!

4.9V is the correct reading for the orange wire. Check the TPS signal wire and check that closed throttle shows .5-.9V and WOT shows around 4.8V. Make sure that the progression is gradual and the voltage doesn't jump around in between closed and full throttle. The IAC should have 12 volts on the red wire.
