5.0 To C4 Trans

I'm installing a 1990 Mustang 5.0 in my bronco and was wondering if anyone knows of a kit to install the kickdown on the C4 to the 5.0. Can I also pull the VSS sensor from the AOD and install it on the transfer case? Has anyone installed the AOD? I heard it does'nt do well in the bronco due to hunting between 3 and 4 on hills. Thanks.

Use a C4 kickdown cable from Lokar.

You really don't need to use the VSS. It's main function is for cruise control. I didn't use it on mine and haven't had any ill effects.

The AOD is a decent choice as long as you have the proper gearing and tire size to use it. If you are running 3.50 gears and big tires, it will hunt 3rd and 4th and you won't be happy. My boss has one with 4.10's and 33's on his and it works out pretty well. You also want to make sure that the Throttle valve on the trans is adjusted properly.

Thanks Jason, I spoke with a guy who told mr to use the TV cable off of the mustang trans. He said to invert the kickdown arm on the c4. He also mentioned that VVS is not needed, but the auto EEC with work better with it. I have the A9P brain, so I may try it without and see aht happens. I don't want any codes so I am keeping all the sensors. He mentioned painless wiring for the VSS to bronco speedo connection for $100.00. I was not able to find it. I currently have 3.50's so I will wait on the AOD until I upgrade the Diff to 31 spline and 4.10 gears. Thanks, Jeff

We have talked before. I keep finding things to fix. I still haven't figured out the electircal issues put its running.

I have the same set up. 5.0 and C4 and I don't have the kick down. Its seems that you both have a lot of knownledge in this area and I could really use your input. I just spent the day at the junkyard looking a these cable vs. linkage and I'm stumped. Lokar? I'll google it and see what I can find. But please when you get a chance e-mail what you can.
