Engine & Transmission Compatability

I need to put a transmission out of an "83 Econoline 150 into a "90 Mustang GT. I'll start by asking, is this even possible?

yes this is totaly possible depending on what engine is in the econoline and what engine is in the stang

300 I-6 in the van. I was told that the 300 has the same bolt patern as the 302 which is what is in the mustang. What about the fact the Mustang is electronicly modulated and the van is vacuum?

The van probably has a C6, it will bolt to the 302, but, your transmission tunnel will need some work to fit the C6 in there just to start with...
