10k question..

The "basic" 10k mod is just a resistor shoved under the dust seal, and the wire leads inserted into two of the three connectors. This fools the computer into thinking that the oil pressure is LOW and bumps the HPOP up a little. More pressure creates better fuel injection into the cylinder. Downside is a slight idle increase, and possible "rough" idle. Especially if you get into the lower number resistors like the 3.9k or 4.3k resistors.
Next step up is to put the mod on a switch or some kind. It can either be on/off, or attached to your throttle pedal, or tied into the Idle Validation Circuit.
Next is the "adjustable" mod. Find a 0-10k ohm variable resistor and wire a 3.9k resistor to the center tap. This gives you 3.9k to 13.9k of adjustable mod. Some variable resistors even have an OFF position.
Finally, you have the 10k Diode Clamp mod. This does not use a 10k resistor, but gets its name from the original 10k design. The CORRECT diode clamp mod will require you to CUT one of your wires on the ICP. If you dont want to cut anything, contacy Sean @ SP Diesel and he will sell you one set of male/female connectors to create your own MODULE.
WARNING: While the simple 10k mod is pyro safe (I cant break 1100 degrees with mine pre-turbo temp), some users haev reported that the lower 3.9k type mods and the Diode Clamp mod run HOT. Therefore, if you do NOT have gauges, I do NOT recommend using low resistors or the Diode Clamp.
The guy who came up with the Diode Clamp mod is Named Fred/Toptunr on a webpage called freeautoadvice.com or something like that.

I am new to this so tell me if the link doesnt work. Good luck.
Thanks for that link, it helps out a lot with understanding how to install the mod. I've been wanting to do this mod and have been reading about it but still had trouble understanding how it is set up. Those pictures are a great help as I am a visual learner.
Thanks!!
