Another Block Heater Question

I have searched and read most of the posts, so ....

I do not have a plug, I live in CA where is was 15 degrees this AM.

I have located the block heater wire. Does it include three wires inside this large cable? ie a 120 VAC hot, neutral and a ground?

Why couldn't I purchase my own heavy gage male plug and make my own cable and connect it to the already installed heater pig tail?

did you say you have a wire thats plugged into the block heater that has no plug on the bumper end? i think my answer is yes but i'm not to sure what your wire is jim.

you need to buy the cord as it plugs into the heater receptacle ,, after that you can modify as you please

If you found the wire that is plugged into the block, then you need to trace to the other end, its wrapped up and tucked behind the passenger side bumper and it aint easy to see. It will have the male plug on the end if you are looking at the right wire. Block heater is inside the passenger front wheel well 2/3 down the block towards back of the truck and has 3 prongs male sticking out the frost hole with this three wire cable plugged onto it with a female end. If you find the empty block plug, then go to an IH dealer for the cord, cheaper than ford.
