That is a mighty big assumption, that computer won't let it happen. How does the computer monitor for egt? It appears that it isn't anywhere but inferred from some calculation from the other parameters it does monitor. I talked with a shop nearby who said the Transmission temeprature gauge sensor is mounted on the return from the Cooler so that is why it never seems to vary once it warms up. This appears to be a convienent place but again not the best. Since I'm probably staying Stock do you thinK I need these extra gauges,? I'll be towing an 8000 pound TT on occasion.

I did look at the juice module from BD it has a little display monitor called the Attitude that seems to display what most need. Any expierence yet? Of course I would no longer be Stock. It looks like you play the hide an seek game with the dealer if you do something like this and you need to clear the codes before you takt it in.

No hide and seek. Just clearing codes won't help. From what I understand, the new systems store "freeze frames" that let a tech know max values of various parameters.

I saw a post on one of these forums where a guy put a performance chip on his truck and went for a ride, did a little street racing. He removed the chip and took it to the dealer. The tech called him and asked what kind of chip he was using because the tech could see where parameters were off the scale.

Maybe one of the techs that browse this forum could give a little detail.

This truck has been repaired once for four wheel drive, this is a list of the problems today, mileage 4,500.
The four wheel drive still does not work, vehicle is stopped, 4 high is engaged, take off, go 25 yards, accelerate hard, rear wheels spin and no 4 wheel drive, then all of a sudden, the front starts slamming in and out of engagement, making gear noise, etc
Another time , stop truck, engage 4 wheel low, will not engage, finally engages, then stop, put in high 2 wheel, reverse, only a noise occurs that could only be the gears riding on top of themselves, no engagement, just a pound of grinded gears.
The truck has much more wind noise from the doors, then when it we first driven of the showroom?
When first started, it lurches in reverse, or forward, when idling, like a worn out piece of junk.
It does not have the torque or the power the other 7.3 liter ford diesel trucks I have owned did, both Fords, one a 99, and one 2001, did I mention the mileage is not nearly as good as the 7.3, hmm, less displacement, less power, worse gas mileage, all I can say is this is not a better idea.
