Hello everyone, I am Adam. I am looking to buy a used F250 King Ranch, I thought I found one at a local dealership here in Tampa, but after driving it, and having a mechanic look at it, it needed some motor work, cam fasers and it had what sounded like a exhaust leak. So back to the drawing board. I found another on Craig's list, im wanting to stay around 20k. This truck is a 06 with the 6 liter v8. My mechanic friend said to stay away from the 6 liter..iv been reading all the horror stories online about this motor. It's got 158k miles on it. It's in Orlando so ill have to drive over there next week to drive and look at it, iv read all the threads on here, regarding what to look for and such, I will also be taking my mechanic friend with me...wish me luck.

I see you are finding your way around out site.

Good luck on your search for a truck. I have a 6.0L and have not had any major issues. Proper maintenance and it should last you a long time.
