Yes, at this point it would probably make the most sense to have a new Y fabricated (being aluminized, should be much cheaper than Bassani's SS). You could use pipes to patch where the first cat was, but do you really want to? Have you checked out all those nice kinked corners on the stocker lately? Again, its entirely on youre budget. If it were me, I would want to take advantage of the high flow cat and new catback.
Any exhaust shop should be able to make one out of aluminized tubing for about half the price of the Bassani. The reason the Bassani is so high is because they are stainless steel. They also have much more overhead to factor into their products versus an exhaust shop who only needs to buy tubing, and can bend anything up.
Not all. My local sunoco station has a mandrel bender in their shop, as does my local mechanic and others in town. If you make some calls, you should be able to find someone who has a mandrel machine.
