I did mine and it was very easy. The nuts that hold the housing are on the fire wall. Just remove the nuts, heater hoses and the heater cable and the whole housing comes right out.
Yeah, the core is on the inside. It will be obvious how the box comes apart once you get it out. I printed out the tech article and used it as a step-by-step guide when I did mine. Very helpful! You may have to loosen some of the bolts that hold the dash on to manuver the box out from underneath. Other than that, it's pretty simple.

Do you have factory a/c or not? It makes a big difference...
If a/c, follow steps in tech article...
If non a/c you need to remove the entire box in one piece. There are studs from the heat box that extend through the firewall and have nuts on the engine side. Remove the nuts, heater hoses, control cables and wiggle the entire box out from under the dash (helps to unbolt the bottom of the dash). Then once out, the box separates to get the core out. It's easy, just takes time.
