new truck
I just traded my 1992 diesel for a 1998 4.6l f150. Was this a good move. is the 4.6 a good engine? i hope it is because i'm sick and tired of mechanicing on fords. I but the truck yesterday from a ford dealership. This morning i noticed the engine coolant was low so i added 4 quarts. is this cause for an alarm? the truck has only 42000 km on it. I hope it'll be a good one.
Is the 4.6 known for bad heads? or coolant loss?

i have a 2002 f150 with a 4.6L in it, it has been a great motor so far and it pulls my heavy ranger bass boat really well even with my 22" wheels on it. the motor runs really strong. just besure to keep up the maintenance on it. if i hear anything i will keep you posted on it. as for getting tired of working on fords, all vehicles are the same anymore. if you are going to ahve a car or truck you are going to have to work on them yourself or ahve another person work on it. its something that is inevetable. weather its something maintenace realted or somethats gone bad on the car or truck. GM is just over rated and dodge is just junk on wheels.
