Yeah. ...I hear that loud and clear! The often mistaken assumption is LS means it won't slip. Not so, of course. It just means slip is (duh) limited! So, I guess when it comes right down to it, there's no TRUE 4WD, just limited 4WD at its best.
No true 4wd from the factory anyhow...
There is no correlation between ratio and wether it had a LS or not... My 81 came out of the factory with a LS 2.47 geared 9"...
The tallest ratio offered in 4wd's was 3.00 in 9" trucks, and 3.08 in 8.8" trucks(my buddy has one with a stock 2bbl 302 trying to spin 33's...)
Making even less sense, those 2.47's in my 81 were backed by a SROD... yes, OD and 2.47 gears....
