Has anyone put duel exhaust on the new F-150. If you have what type did you put on it and about how much did you pay? I want to have the pipes out the side not the back and I do not want it to be much louder than stock.
I don't know much about duel exhaust on the 04 but there are several old threads here about it, just do a search on duel exhaust and you'll find them. Main reason I replied was bc of your name "lsu". I saw you guys lost Mauch, what about that defensive guy? We kept Green and Pollack so this year should be very interesting (I hope the 3rd time's a charm lol).
And by the way welcome aboard, FTE is an awesome place (and very ADICTIVE!).

Do you want true dual exhaust or just the cat back with two pipes out the side? There are a couple of manufacturers that make a cat back system like this. For true duals you will probably have to take it to a muffler shop.
I had a Flowmaster Series 70 Big BlocK II muffler installed on my 04. It's a single inlet dual outlet. I had dual pipes run out the back with stainless tips. I could have easily had them run out the sides if I wanted. The 70 Big BlocK II is the quietest muffler Flowmaster makes. It has a deep mellow sound at idle and sounds pretty good when I jump on it but not too loud. I paid $114 from Jegs Performance. My local muffler man installed it with the pipes for $165. Total = $279. He was going to charge $195 but he had to leave half way through the install to go to a school board meeting so he knocked some off for the trouble. That's how it is when you live in a small town.--Jack
I was thinking about true duel exhaust too. I did not even realize the truck had to cats on it untill I climbed under to do the first oil change and was oh damn...... wont void anything.
I put a true dual exhaust on my 5.4, and it sounds great. I had my local muffler shop put dual Flowmasters, and ran the pipes out the back. I have about 1000 miles on them with no problems.
You will NOT void Ford's Warranty by modifying or changing the exhaust system on your new 2004 F-150's.....just as long as you perform the modifications/changes in the SINGLE 2.5" pipe that comes from the intersection of the Y-pipe connecting the (2) catalytic converters.
I installed a Flowmaster 70 Series Big Block II Muffler.....with a 3.0" single inlet and dual 2.5" outlets.....into 3.0", polished 304 stainless steel, slant tip tail pipes.....exiting out the right side of my truck, centered between the rear passenger door and rear wheel opening. It looks AND sounds great.....
BigJack has previously described how well it sounds....and he is 100% right on the money!!
I recently took my muffler off and run two pipes out the back to let the exaust run straight threw the cats sounds good noticed about 1.5 more miles per gallon and a noticeable power gain
