f-100 interior

Hi Guys:

I am getting ready to do my interior for my 56 f-100. I am considering purchasing RodDoors custom style upholstery panels. They offer headliners, door panels kick panels, and rear cab panels, seats, carpet and lots of other great stuff. The panels are made out ABS plastic with a design all ready formed so all you have to do is apply your material of your choice and you have a custom interior. If I went with Roddoors I would cut my interior cost by 1/2.

Has any body used the RodDoors panels, if so, how did it turn out? Are you happy with the results? I would love to hear the good and bad and any pictures would be great.

Yep, I'm a big Rod Doors fan. I know some on here will saying Rod Doors is starting to become a little too common, but the reason they are being used so much, is that they are much easier and cheaper for us new guys. And if you really want something custom, they sell sculpting foam so you can put your own designs into the material. Good luck, John

It's our cover John. We can't afford to do the whole interior in Rod Doors so we pretend like it's no good. I like making my own door and kick panels because I can. There is no way I could do the rest as good as Rod Doors. Not even close. Felt bad after I hacked your interior choice last week. It looks very nice.

Stop it fenders, You're tearing me up here. Actually, I too like to make stuff from scratch when I can. (It makes for much better stories at the cruises.) But, for this job, I can't take any chances. The results have to be there and as soon as possible. No time for my usual trial and error stuff. This truck is for the wife to drive to the shows and meets. She is a tough judge of what's acceptable and what isn't. If the project would have been mine the truck would have been yellow and black and STOCK, like my Fairlane. John

Thanks guys;

I am still waiting to get a response back from Rod Doors to see if they can match my colors. My seat is already done. I want my interior to match my seat. I can't get a hold of the place that did the seat. So my dilemma is I still want to do two tone for my panels and headliner and try to match my colors. Also I can't decide on getting the over head console and the under dash cover for the stereo and air conditioning vents. I have decided to go with the rod doors kit and do it my self. With the money saved on my interior (hopefully I don't screw it up and it will look good with the two tone) I can afford to move the tank out of the cab. I started my truck up today when I got in all I could smell is gas. Actually it does not bother me its my kids that don't like it. They just love it when I drive them to school in my 56 when all the kids are staring at them but don't like the smell.

Can't wait to ride in style and hear my self-think when I am driving.

Thanks again! Any body else has any pics I would love to see them.

Hey Jag Red 54 great job, that is one bad looking 54. I hope mine turns out as clean as yours did.

If you are not close to an upholstery store, Mid Fifty sells material also. They will even mail you free samples. Good luck, John
