Wacky Mouse +

I have Home XP..........the other day the scroll bar at the right of the page I was on would not let me put the mouse pointer on it to move it, it would just jump away also sometimes when I read a page I have seen the pointer move across the screen on it's own. Anyone else have this happen?

Sometimes a broken wire in a wired mouse cord can cause problems like you describe.

Dell mouse...cord with wheel , two buttons. I put the status bar back on and sometimes it just gets taken off every now and then but I don't do it. Sometimes it has a mind of it's own.

If it's a ball type mouse, take the ball out and clean it with detergent and hot water. Clean the rollers inside the mouse with alcohol. Put it back togher and see what happens. If it's an optical mouse, reinstall the software? Good luck.

I clean it quite often, thats why it does not make any sense. I first thought of a spider or other small bug I pop out the ball and use air hose + clean by Q-tip and alcohol.

Is this only happening in the Internet Explorer windows? If so, do a repair on the installation. Go to add/remove and click on IE and then remove. Another box will come up asking if you want to remove/change/repair.
