My in dash CD's come out scorching, but the changer CD's stay nice and cool.
I figure it's because the CD drive unit is located on TOP of all the other electrical components of the audio system - probably including the in unit amplifier which is creating the heat. CD drives really don't create heat.
Bad design.
I am not sure but if you do a search over in the SD/6.0L fourms, I think....there has been some info there also..
Mine also gets extremely hot.
