CD player overheating

I have a '02 F-150 and I had noticed in the winter the CD player would heat up and would spit out on the display that the CD has too hot. This happened on longer trips and I was wondering if anybody else had this problem and maybe what can be done to fix it.

Heater was on and volume was high? Turn the heater down and the volume down. Heat sink in the radio can't handle the extra heat from the outside (heater). Might need to replace the radio
