I have a class A motorhome with and 89 ford 460 carb. motor.
My question is what should the temp range be?
It wants to run 230 on flat and has gone to 250 when going up a grade.

Thats not good!
I been around motorhomes awhile ,since 86 ,have and had 460's that like to run hot!
Here are my suggestions!
Get a ford diesel thermostat,they are the same operating temp range,same design, but when they open up the flow rate through the stat is twice as much lowers temps by some 10-15 degrees.
I would also chk that your fan hub(controlled by temp) is working correctly,when it kicks in should sound like a roar.
unless you have electric fans! make sure their working
I hope you have aftermarket gauges,water ,tranny temps
