i don't pay much attention to sigs, reguardless i missed it when i posted, sigs don't show up when your posting. anyway indeed you say 5.8 in your post and 5.0 in sig. which is it, as there will be a difference in sound.
go to the site i posted and listen to the 351 2.5 no muffler and go listen to some of the 302 clips. sound won't really be to much different between the 302 and 351. i personally like the flow 40 no cat turndown clip. i thought it sounded awesome.
Heres a tidbit for you doubters out there (modru). Anderson Ford Motorsports has run some of the fastest Mustangs out there. When I was setting up my 408 in my Bronco in 99, they (Anderson Ford) were running a faster 1/4 mile with a straight 3" / bassani type crosover than the dual 2 1/2's due to the additional scavenging effect that the 3" had...so, the moral of the story is that a well built single 3" can and will perform at least as good and probably better than most dual setups.
BlaCksiLo is correct on both the additional scavenging benfits and proven dyno results on the single 3". This is not to say that you wont benifit from a dual set-up, but the dyno and racetrack dont lie.
er im getting confused as to what part of this discussion we are discussing. the dual vs single? i know a single 3 inch is has very good performance for single exhaust. but a PROPERLY built dual exhaust will provide much better gains than just the single.
Not true modru...see my post above regarding a better 1/4 mile with a single 3", also there are dyno tests out there the say a single works better. velocity, velocity, velocity.
thanks 94F-150-408, i think my 3" install has been a great success, the mileage increase isnt anything to call home about but the performance is, i think it would have the same with a true dual setup but a lot less money becasue you only have to buy 1 muffler and a lot less tubing, either way, i'm happy with it
