Not much to add, but I have the same feeling on mine. Mine is very slight and seems to have gradually settled down over time. I do set it at about 75 mph and rarely feel a surge.
Our 2001 Excursion has done the same thing since the first week we had it. I always figured it was some software defect, and like a lot of others didn't want dealer to make things worse trying to fix it. Thanks for the good info.
I really think it's just a firmware update, it seems to be overshooting the mark because of the extra power.
Maybe it's a V10 flash that didn't get retuned for the higher-output V10, or maybe it's for a 5.4L.
Mine overshoots the mark. Speed drops a little bit, the computer really hits the gas and the speed goes over the setting. Computer then decelerates. Next time, same thing.
Feels like just too much power for the cruise sensitivity.
Anyone out there with 4.30 rear with this cruise-control surging?
Quick edit: With 1000lbs in the bed, it doesn't do it.
