cruise control 2001
has any one had a problem with the curse control surging on them between the speed of 68 to 72 or at any speed. I am having a fight with ford about this, i am almost sure that this is a factory defect. Thank you all in advace for your hepl.

Yeah my 2001 SD did the same thing. I mentioned it to the service dept. and was told that there is a service alert out for the problem not a TSB. The problem is caused by an ABS sensor. I no longer have the truck and I never did get it fixed. I was also told that it will do it a 48 mph and something like 97mph. Your Ford dealer should have info on this matter. My 02 dosen't do it so I guess they have corrected the problem.

I have the same problem, Same story from dealer. I did find a perm fix though. Don't set cruse at 69 or 70
Sorry, I know how irritating it is at times. If anyone gets at real fix it seems plenty of others would like to know.

she went in the shop today for other things but I asked them to check this I will let you know what comes up.

I was told they never heard of it ther is no TSB my dealer is going to try changing the module. They did not have one so I will wate till tomorow.

It's fixed chanded the ABS module.
There is a service advisory or some such, no TSB however I asked the dealer what a person did if they were out of warranty? He said that because the notice from ford that it is a warranty covered item.

Ok, got mine fixed as well. Took dealer over a week to fix, they twice ordered the new part for a 4WD. Mine is 2WD, I almost didn't want to let them install it!!

I have had the same problem, but have been dealing with it just by not setting the cruise at that speed. I am afraid that if I bring it in for that, that I will be opening a can of worms and make bore problems then i would solve.
