I assume that it was pulled but I don't know why. I just got curious today and asked the question; my gut instinct tells me to steer clear of this one.

Ever notice that there isn't a pejorative term for a white man that even comes close to being as offensive as many terms we have for non-white people?
Oh yes there is, a whole list of them.

Haulingboat,

I don't see how anyone has prevented you from using these words, or any words, any time you want, your 1st Amendment right is still pleny intact, adn the courts aren't about to tell you you can't anytime soon. (FTE being a private meeting place, is exempt from these rules, it's owners have the right to decide what is and is not acceptable content)

The part you don't seem to like is that there are consequences and connotations to these words. To be frank - tough. The majority, or in some cases the minority, gets to decide on the meaning and connotation of some words, not you. You are aware of them and their connotations before hand, use them accordingly, or be prepared for the consequences.

Come on Waxy. Quite trying to predict what I like or dislike and stick with what you know.

The story was about Spike Lee at the Cannes Film Festival in 1999, calling for Charlton Heston to be "shot with a 44 bulldog." (That was the type of weapon used in the "son-of-sam murders.) What were the repercussions of that?
Are you suggestng Spike's main problem with Chuck is his "whiteness"? I expect Spike has problems with the NRA.

I'm suggesting that Spike suffered no repercussions for his comment because of his "blackness."

I only know about you what you post. In this case I was attempting to phrase my post in such a manner that it was not a direct personal attack, but rather more aimed at the subject.

I fail to see how you interpreted the post as a prediction, it was merely a response to your whining about the connotations of words.

So when you dislike something, and discuss it here, it is debating.

When I dislike something, and discuss it here, it is whining.

Nice sucker punch there. Talk about name calling.

What you sow you reap.

I was responding in the tone in which I *felt* you set with your response.

Sorry for the hassle Ryan.

PC has nothing to do with it. These are derogatory remarks that in the wrong context could get one stomped into a mud hole and the mud hole stomped dry. Second, there is the possibility of young people reading these and I will respect the FTE rules regarding that.

I'm done with this issue. Name digging doesn't belong in the FTE unless one is adress a Chevit or Dodgie thing.
