How many of those "boys" with the chip on their shoulder were white?

He wouldn't have to research every word, just a few and the "research" is common knowledge btw.
Is that all you have to defend insensitivity? Why don't you quit while you're behind. You're starting to sound foolish.

I was trying to say that unintentional insensitivity should not be regarded the same as the real thing, especially when all involved realize it was unintentional. That's making a mountain out of a mole hill, and for what purpose - so that one person who has not been purposely offended can - purposely - hurt the feelings of another by making him feel guilty for something that was unintentional.
sinjin,
Others have made much more serious remarks, which did contain malicious intent, and suffered little or no repercussions. (I'm off to do a search now, to back this up, with a story about shooting a man with a "44 bulldog". Many, I'm sure, have heard the story, but I cannot at this time remember names.)
The story was about Spike Lee at the Cannes Film Festival in 1999, calling for Charlton Heston to be "shot with a 44 bulldog." (That was the type of weapon used in the "son-of-sam murders.) What were the repercussions of that?

What I'm talking about is being able to speak the truth which may seem like criticism......if it's the truth, it's the truth. Example, I think the products that the chinese are manufacturing and selling to us is simple a bunch of TRASH......why? because it fits.
I bought some screws the other day.....made in china...from home depot. Got home started to use them and the steel simple twisted into, if it was american screws/steel they would not have broken like that.
I bought a mouse a while back (made in china) now it does not work......a printer and it does not work......a radio and it does not work, on and on. I'm sick of it and there's nothing I can do about but complain because the goverment has allowed all of the jobs to go to china. It's very difficult to find things made in america anymore or I would buy it.
The truth is that our standard of living is being reduced simple because of this trash.
Even my DELTA table saw and drill is made in china and parts are breaking.
I have a SEARS drill that I have had for 25 years and it has never broken and I could SLAM it up against the wall and it would take it.
THIS IS THE TYPE OF CRITICISM/NAME CALLING I'M TALKING ABOUT.
If it fits......wear it.

Are you sure it wasn't free enterprise and fact that labour costs are cheaper across the pond that moved a lot of the jobs to Asia?
It can only get worse until ALL of North America becomes completely dependant on Asian products.
nowadas you have watch what you say and to whom, whether or not its a private club or out in public, if some one in charge does not like what is said the actions can be drastic, that is today's reality, like it or not, free speech is not a right anymore. in some countries if you say the wrong thing, you will disappear, look at Irac and other countries, it is happening here in this country,be careful when a person view's and opinions are surpressed, growth of a "free society" will become stagnet. take a good look at we stand to lose, if we cant express ourselves.
Freedom of speech...the government does not care what you say as long as it is not used to incite problems (e.g. yelling fire in a theater). Private citizens, on the other hand, have their own freedom of speech to castigate you for using offensive terminology.
There is a tremendous difference between government suppression of free speech (e.g. China, North Korea, Iraq, etc.) and peer pressure attempting to suppress or channel your freedom of speech (e.g. Political Correctness). Confusing the dynamics of the situation will likely get you very little sympathy beyond the other similarly confused people.
You don't honestly feel that your rights are being violated when other people choose to exercize their own, do you?
