Not really because the NP 205 was gear driven and I don't believe that the Borg had many aftermarket parts to beef it up. The 205 is also iron and wieghs about 180 pounds. The Borg is aluminum which may crack and is chain driven. Before I began changing my project truck to stronger parts it had the borf which lasted for about 322,000 km on stock tires. I haven't heard of anybody using the BW which is why I'm swapping in a 205. Might be a good idea to do since you have already upped your front axle to a 60 and are putting 38's on. I'm sorry I can't really help you with the swap if you wanted to do it because I'm putting in a total 78 engine, tranny and tcase.
it's not near as strong but it will hold it's place! they used them in 250's and 350's in the 80's and early 90's. I have never actually seen or heard of one breaking due to being overloaded! but i am sure there have been instances. jusas mentioned above....the 205 is the way to go for off-roading
Speaking of breaking 208's, Jason, did you ever get a 205 stuffed into your truck? I got my twin stick all together and in but haven't had a chance to drive the truck due to a crazy work week. When I try it out I'll post more info.
Bigford, is your BW having problems or are you just wondering how the 2 compare?
How would i go over checking a tcase for wear and to see if its ok. Im getting a t case out of an 92 f350 with 250000 miles, but the 4 wheel drive was only used once in a while. thank you
You can look for leaks, fluid level and condition. You can turn the shafts by hand checking for side to side play in the bearings and listening for noise. You can check that it shifts (if it is not electric) into all positions, though this is a little awkward without the case mounted to something. That's about all I can think of without actually running the case on a truck.
yeah the case is in the truck right now, but the engine is blown in the truck, so i'll just look to see that it shifts ok and for leaks around the case. thanks wick

no i am in skool and no job at the moment (gras doesn't grow in the winter) so finances are real tight right now! Hope fully I will get my crossover steering, motor rebuild, and NP205 in the coming months!
let me know how you like the twin stick cause when i get my 205 i will twin stick it before it gets stuffed under there!
Jason, I had a chance to drive the truck tonight and the twin sticks work awesome. My drive was limited as I've somehow lost 3rd gear on my tranny and was having some other unrelated problems but I was peeling out in FWD. When I have a chance to test it a bit more I'll post all the info on it.
