The airbag light on the dash has been flash a code 27 for some time, as soon as I start the truck, some times not till the truck has been running for awhile(10-30miles).I had a speed sensor problem but i replaced it(rear axel), Then i took it to the ford dealership to see about this flashing code. They put it on the computer which said everyting checked out and cleared the code. A day later it starts again. I'm always away from home working putting about on about 1000-1500 miles aweek on the truck. And that light is starting to worry me.I can't notice anything wrong. Any help would sure help. Thanks. The truck is a 99 250sd 5.4 auto.128,000 miles.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Sep-02 AT 11:13 PM (EST)]Mine is doing the same thing. I've also noticed the light on the dash by the on/off switch for the passenger side is inoperative. Anybody else having probs? I've read in other posts that you have to solder a bulb onto the circuit board for the disabling the bag? Has anybody else done this? thanks in advance Trey
Does the lamp flash a couple of times ,then stay on?
if so this indicates a hard fault within the system! must be repaired by the dealer.
These are tricky to find without the use of the dealer computer.
Does your seat belt warning chime still work? if no go back to the dealer, there is a RCM module that controls the airbags system
I don't know your dealer reputation ,but with the way some dealers are they like to get you coming back in for repeat service this is where they make there $
If when they know they can reset the fault and wait for it to surface again
