f250 abs code 16
Hello, I am new to the forum and need help with my 99 f250 light duty. the abs light has been on for a couple months now and i just checked the code by grounding the wire on the passenger side kick panel. it flashed 16 times in a quick sequence. there where no short or long flashes. from what i have read, the 16 flash code says basically everything is ok. if this is so why does the light stay on? i have yet to clear the code and start the truck and see if the light comes on before moving but i hope to get that completed shortly. if anyone has a clue as to what the code means please accept my thanks in advance!

i did unhook the battery last night and when i started the truck and before i put it in gear the light came on . i might not have left the battery unhooked long enough. it was off for less then 5 minutes. closer to 2-3 minutes. maybe that was not long enough. when i get home from work today i will try it again.

today i tried resetting the light by turning off the key while having the switch grounded with no luck. i then unhooked the battery for 10 minutes and reconnected it. i turned the key on but did not crank it over. after all systems settled down the light came back on. i still get the 16 flashes indicating all is well.
any ideas??????????????
