emtabmm, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the Ford WDS system used for other Ford vehicles? In other words if a 2003 mustang needs a flash, wouldn't it get it from the WDS? I think some of the confusion from all the different numbers is coming from that. Lets take the Aug flash RC5, WDS level B26.7, right after that they come out with new programing for the mustang, they label it 26.8. 2 weeks later Joe Blow takes his 6.0 in for a flash, his paperwork says level 26.8, the only thing that changed was the addition of the mustang data, the 6.0 still only got the Aug flash (26.7), but he thinks he got a different one because his paperwork says 26.8.
Did i read somewhere that if the dealer does not have the latest updated flash that he can download it from ford within 30 minutes or so. If he wont do it, can i request that he does, provided i have proof and problems that pertain to the latest and greatest??

Originally posted by SBV45 My Shop Foreman gave me my current release as of Dec 30th as 3U7AFPC. How do I relate that to the chart at https://www.ford-trucks.com/framered...al_updates.html ? And, how does that relate to the SSM's?
My guess is they didnt give you all the numbers, but with it ending in C I would say you have the Dec flash. This is what a member from the other forum came up with.
Here is some data on the currnet Reflash
250/350 Auto, RC7, WDS B28.0.9, 3U7A-12A650-FT C , TEC2
250/350 California, RC7, WDS B28.0.9, 3U7A-12A650-FU C , UTU2
450/550 Auto, RC7, WDS B28.0.9, 3U7A-12A650-FV C , VRA2

The C is the Dec reflash if it is a A Then its the Oct reflash.
This is what a ford tech was saying on a "Ford" site:
REAR MAIN SEAL LEAKAGE IS A COMMON PRACTICE FOR ME. 9 OUT OF EVERY TEN HAVE OIL STAINING ON BELLHOUSING. WEAR SLEEVE SEEMS TO FIX ALL THE ONES I'VE DONE..
I'm trying to research this wear sleeve as we have not done many rear seals here....
This is a question for emtabmm. If I told my service writer to unflash my engine so it will idle quieter, could he do it? My truck runs great just loud. It's an 04 6.0L I don't know the build dates off hand . I bought it in Oct. 03and was just off the delivery truck. thank's for all the info you've provided. I've learned alot.
this might be a dumb question but im new here and have had my 03 for since may and now have about 18000 miles and my production date was like march of 03 i was wondering what i really need to do about these flashes and if i really need them and if they really help, or what it costs to get them done. Any help woulb b appreciated.
