Found another good reference page http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/home.html There is a bulletins section for the 6.0 that is pretty comprehensive. Some of the stuff is for the 7.3 only.
I have a 2003 and I have had no problems with bad injectors and the truck runs ok right now . It does idle a little rough sometimes and the fuel mielage could be a little better. The only bad thing that it has done is quit twice when stopping at stop sign but it starts right away. I am not sure what reflash it has but it goes in tomorrow for an oil change so mabey I should get it reflashed. Any help would be appreciated my sn is 1FTSW31P83EC10583. thanks.
I have read that several people that have recently had their trucks reflashed have experienced increase idle speed with start up. I recently had my truck reflashed a week ago and this holds true with mine. Question I have is that is this the December reflash and part of the fix? No problem with it, just wondering.
Also where does the reflash ID # appear? On the paper work or under the hood on the reflash sticker. Thanks.
Thats what I figured. Been kind of keeping eye on changes/differences pre and post flash to report and compare to you guys.
Also noticed pronounced hum in turbo on 2 starts yesterday but not this am. That was kind of weird first time noise. Hope thats not another glitch waiting to rear it ugly head. Thanks for your response back!
Actually the higher idle came about on the Aug reflash. It was to help with the poor performing AC at idle. Many people complained it was a poor attempt at a fix that didn't work. And like all reflashes, the Aug reflash is part of the Dec reflash so your idle will increase.
yes i noticed on emtabmm's list on reflashes how accumlative they are from the first one. Also wondered how reflashes affect the injector issue or if they affect them at all. I have heard some say it was fords attempt to extend their life past warranty but I dont see how it could do it. thanks.
Yes the extended life of an injector does make sense. But I don't think that was Fords purpose, I think it was a side benefit. I believe the purpose of pilot deactivation was the inability of the 6.0 to run smoothly at idle. And how long would it actually extend the life of the injector? Its only used at idle, what percentage of time does it sit at idle? I don't think the extended longevity would be significant.
Just had 15,000 mile service done at 12,300. Paperwork says flash or WDS was updated, but tech went on vacation and service writer doesn't know. Will the FMC "system" be able to tell?
I had the October flash done in November by Bonner Springs Ford. New dealer (better service) was done by Shawnee Mission Ford. Did I get December "flash" or did I get the new January flash that I heard or read somewhere???
IS there a January flash, and if so, what does it correct?
Please advise and thanks for your help... what a great site.
There is nothing wrong with mentioning dealership names

Thank you, for there should be no fear in mentioning the names of the dealerships through which anyne is having either positive treatment or negative responses......
B: Please check and verify what "flash" update I have for my Excursion.
