Ok George, you lost me.

What on Earth does CA's birth rate have to do with this?!?!

Please, try and stay on topic.

IMHO, and those around me including friends, neighbors, coworkers and all, it's attitude, driving style, driving up land prices, more people on the roads, but the bulk of it goes back to that previous post. In 1970 the population of WA was 3.2M; now about 30 years later it's more/less doubled. We do a fine job of reproducing our own and really don't need more people. Our infrastructure is becomming strained. But it is a free country and people can choose to live where they like.

Seattle is not a reflection of the entire state of WA, people on the east side of the cascades generally resent the west side. It's not a people thing but more of a political thing. This stems from the fact that the capital is in Olympia, and thus the decisions that impact the entire state are made over there. The same thing happens at the ballot box. What is good for Seattle is not always good for over here. That's the bulk of the issue. There has been talk over the years about forming a new state which would consist of eastern WA, north Idaho and some of western Montana. About 20 years ago the subject was being pushed real hard. But as always, it dies out.

I hope this doesn't ruffle too many feathers as that's not it's intent.

Sorry for the confusion. CA's human birth rate relating to those agricultural nouns is much higher, averaging about 98.6% of total production. Maturity brings it closer to 100% as personal values are established and irrigated.

I've lived in Eastern WA and the tip of Idaho's Panhandle and agree with your consensus. BMWs and land Yacht SUVs in the hands of inexperienced drivers are not suited for real winters. Nor are the drivers who push land values beyond the reach of established residents. Boise would never let the Panhande go, nor would Olympia's timber kings shed E. WA.

How about the biggest reason of all to dislike CA --- automotive emission controls and smog inspections.

I have found that most of the residents of non California States, who bash Cali, seem to be ex Californians. Really, I have noticed that, living near the California / neiboring state border. It's funny how frustrated Cali's move from home because of all of the problems and, ahem, immigrants to California, who screw up a good state. Then move to other states and bash Californians for looking at moving to that state.

LAST ONE IN, CLOSE THE DOOR!!!!!

I do understand the natives of these states being concerned of their quality of living being hijacked by foreigners. Don't much care for the phony whining hipocrits though.

Excuse my spelling. How's that for a twist

My mama told me to hang up, Later, Tim

Reasons to bash
1. Over population
2. cost of living. in order to get by the majority of families have to have both parents working.
3. Insanity I bought a 25 year old double wide trailer in a trailer park (renting the space) and sold it for double what I bought it for 3 years later.
4. Cost of housing I now have an acre of land, 2000 sf house, 500 sf out building and 1000 sf garage. What would this cost in any city or major metro area of ca? I paid much much less.
5. Anti smoking laws. I don't smoke and probably never will. But COME ON!!!! Second hand smoke doesn't kill and never has. And these idot nanny laws are being exported to the rest of the country.

8. CA is a desert. LA is a desert, San Jose is a desert. If they weren't getting their water from Oregon it would all dry up and blow away.
9. Giving drivers licenses and state aid to illegals.
[/B]
I agree with the first 4. Number 5 however I disagree with. I am a paying customer at restraunts also and I don't go over and dump a beer or class of wine on someones head. If the smokers want to by my dinner and pay my dry cleaning bills . . . I'll reconsider.

8. There is merit in 8 but not totally true. A lot of the water comes from Sierra snow melt. LA bought the Owen valley (once lush green valley parallel to Death Valley) and has been draining it for 50 years or more. The city of Riverside and San Bernardino gets water from wells. Then there is the diversion of the Colorada River . . .

9. The Govenator fixed that and got rid of the $800 vehicle registration fee. Yee Haw.

Reality T.V. sucks but the rest of the country is eating that garbage up.

The Seattle area is a haven/breeding ground for greenies. They cross the cascades and come around here causing problems for the locals. As if there aren't enough concerns/problems in the Puget Sound region to deal with they come here and stir the pot. What some of the people in Eastern WA want are jobs, not some nut with a fist full of cash telling them it's bad to log or to mine. Newport WA is a good example of what the nuts behavior results in.

How about a little California trivia. Why is a bear on the state flag?

PS, this is not a trick question.

its the state animal, isn't it?
as far as the emission laws here, well, if we didn't the rest of you would melt from acid rain. believe it or not, there are federal emission laws, that are just not enforced in many states.
