Conspiracy theories

Which have you heard, which do you believe? Forget JFK, I mean more recent times. I have heard the following:

There are satellites that will send down holograms of Jesus, complete with sound, to make us think he has come back. He will from there issue his mandates.

The markings on the back of mile markers are for UN troops to be able to navigate.

All cities have one, or several highway "loops" built around their most populated areas. (look at any map). Supposedly this is for the big take over. They just take control of those, no one in, no one out. From there, they control water, power distribution, media, food etc.

Black helicopters and planes fly around all the time, at times dropping disease spoors (flu like symptoms).

The new security thread in money is actually a tracking device where a cop will eventually be able to drive by you and "see" how much cash you are carrying. If over a certain amount, you will be stopped and field interviewed.

They have a weather machine in Alaska called the HARRP, that dictates droughts, hurricanes, hail, etc. Thus contolling our food and water supply.

I have heard all these and a few more. I don't believe 96% of them, what are your thoughts?

Which 4% do you believe?

Seriously, though, where did you dig these up - I've never heard any of them.

There's the consipiracies about turning over a lot of our national parks to the U.N. to promote bio-diversity.

There is a thread of truth to it from what I've seen but the conspiracy seems overblown.

I didn't dig them up. I heard about them from various sources. If you google for any of those subjects, you will find pages upon pages written about them.

The 4% I believe. I know that there are black helicopters and planes. I do not believe they seed us with disease. I do know that to make an aircraft invisible from the ground, you paint it black. That's all I know.

Edit: I do know there is a HARRP project. If it is weather controlling machine, I don't know about that.

Hi hang10,

Thanks for posting those. I hadn't heard any of those theories. They all sound so paranoid.

Isn't that what all conspiracy theories are is paranoid? I find them fun and a little disconcerting at the same time. It's kind of like, what if there is a shread of truth? If not, what sick individual can see something and twist it into this scenario.

Thumbs down Whoops

[I do know that to make an aircraft invisible from the ground, you paint it black. That's all I know.]

You've got this switched around...it's paint it dark on top and lighter on bottom to "camo" an aircraft. They use solid colors where it just doesn't matter. Where the craft has a low radar signature, stealth is where they are usually all black and that usually has to do with the material it's made out of.

That is not what I read. I read that in order for the craft to be visible above 30,000 feet, it was to be painted light. (ie) commercial aircraft.. If you wanted it invisible, paint it flat black. Seems there is some funny trick with light bouncing off the earth, back into the sky and back down and refraction and the bending of light.

I know black also refers to stealth mode aircraft, for the reasons you mentioned. However, in this context, they are actually talking about the color.

I saw a show on Discovery Channel on this "invisible plane" and from what I remember, the engineers wanted to paint the bottom of the plane PINK! But the pilots wouldn't go for it.

The F117 was supposed to be painted pink. One of the Have Blue prototypes was pink, at least for a short period of time. The best color for night stealth is actually a dark red.

Believe it, or not!

I have been told by a friend that is a police officer that the stripes in the new bills ARE there to assist in locating large amounts of currency being transported through airports and cruise ship terminals. Supposedly, the stripes read on the metal-detectors that you pass through.

I don't wish to turn this into a Democrat vrs. Republician discussion but on one Democratic web site I lurk in now and then, the conspiracy theories are brewing. Some of these people seem very paranoid about the Republican party. Are some of these way out there? Judge for yourself. Here are some recent ones.

One is that the earthquake in Iran was caused by the U.S. using some sort of what they call Tectonic Plate Disrupter or something or other in order to take attention away from the war in Iraq. That the earthquake in California recently is somehow connected.

Another is that president Bush knew or let happen the attacks on 9/11. That the Pentagon was hit by one of our missiles and not a plane. The attacks were allowed to take attention away from the economy. That the twin towers collapse were not caused by the heat from the jet fuel, but cause by internal explosions like the kind used for building demolition and brought down in a controlled manner.

Another is that the U.S. army had Saddam all along and the army brought him out to give president Bush a boost in ratings at the right time when many democratic contenders are bad mouthing Bush on the war in Iraq. Along those same lines, some there believe that Osama Bin Laden is captive and will "suddenly be captured" just before the Nov. presidental elections to give Bush another boost in ratings.

Yet another. That the media is pro right wing and the democrats cannot get the truth out about their party and their candidates, which is why they believe they aren't doing very well against Bush right now. That the media only tells the public what the Bush administration tells them to.

That the government has complete control of the voting process and Bush will be "relected" because of it. Many, and that's no exaggeration, believe that we are now in a fascists state with corprations actually running the country and we will be like **** Germany in no time. Bush=Hitler.

Another. That this country is turning into a tyrannical government, a civil war may be inevitable and to arm themselves. Martial law may be declared if Bush takes a big hit in his ratings. Those that understand the meaning of the second amendment are saying we may have to take up arms against a tyrannical government should Bush continue to "rule". (now I believe the second amendment was for this purpose, but I don't believe it is happening now).

It's amazing!

amazing

Whatever happened to common sense? How does anyone reason with someone who these paranoid thoughts embeded in their heads.I'm beginning to think there are some shallow gene pools out there.these theories have no logical thinking process to back them up.There seems to be a lot of "what if" theories out there.I was told a long time ago that common sense would take me a long way.I still find that theory true
