I have seen 4" round mirrors that mount on the top of the door. I have been considering using these mirrors and eliminating the stock ones, I think it would give my truck a really cool look. My only concern is visibility. Will these little mirrors suffice? Has anybody here used them?
Yes - past tense
I used for awhile, before my total re-do. Not actually functional mirrors for our trucks with Taller cab, more for street rods. The passenger side was so bad that had to put one of those fish eye mirrors over the whole thing, and then just barely let me see anything on that side. I went witrh stock mirrors (car type), had some other ideas but was running out of time. I liked some of the "Pod" type, and almost tried.
I have small billet ones on my truck, and I guess my truck falls more into the "custom" catagory, but once you get used to them, they work just fine. I do use my rear view mirrow often too though, which I swapped out for a 53` Ford F1, just for fun. There are pictures of my mirrors on my website.
