Question Vin #

how do i go about figureing out my gears by my vin #? and if i cant figure it out by my vin, then how else?

The data plate will have the "AXLE" code. Look on the data plate and post that.

Also, if it original, the differential should have a metal tag with the code or gear set in it. Mine did.

The data plate is on the door, the metal tag mentioned is on a bolt on the differential.

Yes, you're data plate is on the driver side door. Write down the whole thing and post it, maybe we can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the original truck.

The only thing we won't be able to decipher probaby is the DSO code , which is at the bottom right of your data plate.

The rear end, the third member, the differential. They are all the same thing.
