Ranger heater core removal/replacement?
I have a 1998 Ranger that was leaking antifreeze out of the heater core drain tube on the firewall. It was leaking very heavily. So for the moment i just bypassed it using the T fitting that was already in the system, the bypass worked great but now i need to get serious bout gettin that bad heater core out of there. I take it you have to remove the entire dash. I guess i dont really know how to go about that, i dont know where to start and i knot know what to remove and what not too. This seems like a pretty big job, for somthin small. If anyones done it before and has any tips id appreciate them. thanks

disconnect the hoses from the engine compartment , go under the dash on passenger side . remove the core cover and lower the core out . put the new one in and replace all covers and screws. install the hoses , and your done except for adding a small amount of antifreeze. thins process takes less than a half hour. if you take it to a shop they will chartge you 2 hours, good luck , Bob
