Air conditioning problem

I have a 93 Bronco with a 5.0 in it. I am trying to find out about my AC. My AC works, but only if i bypass my heater core. If I don't bypass the heater core all it does is blow hot air. Does anyone know what might need to be replaced? Thanks in advanced.

Exactly what do you mean by "bypass the heater core". Are you somehow manually shifting the air vane between the heater core and outside air intake duct? If so, either the vacuum control or the mechanical link to move it has a problem. I'm interested to know exactly what your method is.

I am disconnecting the inlet and outlet hose from the heater core and connecting a shorter hose to where both of them connect on the engine.

It sounds like your blend door is not working for some reason. You can get to it by taking out your glove box and then take off the plastic piece that covers your heater core and you will be able to reach in the air duct and feel the blend door

Thank you Stainlessstroker95. That was it. The end of the outer part of the cable was not clipped into the dash. So the inner cable was just slipping through the outer part and not closing the blend door. I just snapped the clip on the end of the outer part into the hole there and now it works. The inner cable no longer slips. It is kinda hard to explain, but it now works.

no Prob. I went through that with my brothers truck. Only on his a ink pen had dropped though the vent and got wedged in the blend door and did not let it shut.
