If we did have a rain forest we would have a better chance of saving it

Don't think so? Any one going to ba around to prove me wrong?

don't take the earth so lightly... like anthing it needs maintanance, repair, and TLC to keep it going.
well spoken

We do have a rain forest in the United States. It's located in Washington state and Oregon.

However I don't buy into all the doomsday crap the envirowackos are touting. When I was a kid the same things (pollution, smoke, cutting trees etc) was going to block out the sun and create the next ice age by the year 2000. Now those same jerks are claiming that the same factors will create 'global warming'. I'd like to quote Penn and Teller from their Showtime series of the same title: "B_ _ _ S_ _ _" For details of my qote please watch the show.

The so-called crap that you are talking about is not all crap. Albeit there are folks out there, who are way over on one side, then there is the others that says there is nothing wrong. More than likely, there is something in the middle. The ecology, which is what we need to address. Not the ranting at either end. We still need to take care of this planet, it is our home, and much like your house is. If not the “envirowachos” would you know about these problems, I do not agree with their ways, but I do agree this is our home and we need to address some of the issues, and try to fix them.

well lets see if i remember excatly what the foreman said.

everyday we need to cut down twice what the mill used in 1 day, that way on days that we couldnt cut for various reasons such as deep snow heavy rain etc. so that they could keep the mill running 365 days a year. so we could keep up with all the wood we had already presold.
i remember clear cutting areas that left huge scars on hill sides, back then we were not replanting trees either. plus with the bulldozers coming in and making paths for the trucks we pretty much destroyed anyhing we touched.
