I can guarantee before they got rich they were just good old gals from Texas, probably raised republican and would have been behind Mr. Bush 100% They ought to move to California with the rest of the liberals. Don't let me offend anyone, I was born and raised there but it just isn't the same

I am not a fan of their music, but there are very few female singers I like, none can hold a candle to Patsy.
as far as them saying what they feel, more power to them.
would you guys be criticizing them for what they said in a foreign country, if you agreed with them?I mean I'm sure you wouldn't complain if they were voicing support for Bush, in their European interviews. Do you really believe people in other countries are stupid enough to think all Americans think the same? How does it hurt America if an entertainer disagrees with Bush.If anything, I would think that citizens in countries where speech is not free, would hear this, and be envious of the freedoms americans enjoy and take for granted.
If you don't think people should be able to criticize their government, I don't want to hear any more whining about gun control, auto emissions regulations, or income taxes.
think about it, if you want someone to shut up, theres probably someone who wants YOU to shut up. should you? NO

What is a liberal and conservative anyway? I gurantee you that everyone has somethings they are liberal about and some things they are conservative about...somethings that they are moderate about and some things they don't give a doody about.

I don't give a doody about the chicks but they have freedom of speech. The only reason I give a hoot about Bush is that he is President. While I may question him, I respect the Office. I don't want anything bad to happen to him because he is President and I do care about my country.

Will I run my mouth....oh yeaah

Agree as well but consider the source. All entertainment goes with what's popular for marketing purposes. If you think me wrong you may be one that is fooled by the props. That's for both sides of the issues. Personally I have no respect for any entertainer that gets pollitically involved. It's not the venue they should enter. That goes for pro Bush/US or anti Bush/US or any other party . That goes for both Tims. (correction: Toby Keith and Tim Robbins)

If they want to get involved, feed a child or save an endangered animal but stay out of pollitical views. That's not to say they have no right to their views, we all do thanks to our Constitution but leave it out of their music and public apperances.

Just my opinion.

I agree that celebrites and politics do not go together. Many celebrities tend to try and force their views on people because they feel that since they are famous, people will listen to them. Its the same way with things like fashion and what is cool or not or not cool. If the celebrities are doing it, people will follow what they are doing.

As far as the Dixic chicks go, I listen to them on the radio sometimes but have never cared for them. Natalies voice has always been too shrilly sounding for me. I just don't like her voice. They have had some ok songs but nothing that I consider great songs.

Well now, ya see there's a benefot to bein old and half deaf, you don't hear most of the crap these celebritys, in their own mind, spew.
30 years back, Streisand had some good music out there, and she shoulda kept to singin and actin, and her big yap shut the rest of the time.
Today it seems like everybody needs to be part of a damn cult, and ain't got the brainpower to seperate the song from the empty head singin it.
All that said, most of what passes for Country these days ain't worth shut. Best dang song to come out in the last 20 years was "When I say NO I mean Maybe" and that got yanked in a week cause a bunch wining crybabys didn't have a sense of humor.

Ribkick--I couldn't have said it better.

It certainly wasn't a good career move. It hurt their music sales. I have never heard any of their songs, and I guess now I never will.
