VetNetA forum dedicated to ALL Veterans... their unique needs and wants. A place where Veterans old and new can discuss their problems and find the help and support they are looking for.
Well everyone....I'm new to this "posting thing" but I just can't stay quiet any longer. A friend of mind was talking to a buddy of his recently and told him that a person of the Vietnam Veterans Association called TARGET and asked the store to be a proud sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Mermorial Wall. TARGET replied that: "Veterans do not meet our area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action groups, gay and lesbian causes and education."
I guess they no longer even allow the Marines to collect for "Toys for Tots" at any of their stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would not allow families of employees who were called up for active duty to continue their insurance coverage while they were on military service. I really am upset about this and would like to do more research on this.
Any one out there have any suggestions.?
Guess I shouldn't get so upset but more and more things are falling apart and i'm getting darn tired of it.
Just steaming. Thanks for listening.
Frank
Just went to the link. Looks like some of those people requesting sponsorship need to learn how to follow the red tape trail. i'm surprised the veterns asso. didn't explain the proceedure.Targets policies seem reasonable to me.
I just wonder who's got it in for Target. This thing comes up all the time, and everyone assumes it's true, because it's on the Internet. Hey, wait a minute- everyone assumes it's true...hmm...........
