Hey all.
I got a reese reciever hitch from my grandfather. It came off his 94 F-150. The hitch was a factory installed unit. Was wondering if it will bolt to my 82 bronco.
Thanks all.

it should bolt up with a little drillin... not sure... but i think that the frame rails are the same width... btu hey it was free, so try it and if it dutn work then sell it!
yea, I would try it but it was already dark and cold outside, so I just wanted another opinion on it.
BTW. Yes it was free, My grandfather had a 94 and he got rear ended while pulling a 14' flatbed an the trailer tounge got bent into the rear of his truck. It destroyed the trailer and messed up his bumper. Soo, the insurance replaced the trailer, bumper and, the hitch, so he just took the old hitch and put it at my dod's old shop, we were sorting through the junk and found it under years of junk so I took it cause I have been needing one.
Thanks guys. I'll try a test fit tomorro evening.

do you have a hitch bumper? thats the only thing it may interfere with, due to the fact that our broncos have less framerail behind the rear leaf perch. If you have the regular curled metal bumper, it willd efinately fit. either way, it should work. i had a 79 150 hitch onto my 84. they are pretty much the same throughout all teh ford trucks. i know the hitch bumper was an issue on my bronco, but thats because it is heavily supported as the factory tow point as well. just my experiance , if its worth anything .. i dunno.
Thats what I hope, is that the frame did not change much from 82 to 94.
The 94 that the hitch came off of had a step bumper just like mine.
So, I figure it should fit.
BTW, what kind of bolts shouyld I use to bolt it to the frame?
I was thinking grade 8 carrige bolts, but I'm not sure what size, should 2" be long enough?
I bolted up the class II hicth from my 94 f-150 to my 96 bronc, it fit but the forward most portion of the hitch angled down away from the frame on the bronc.
my solution was to cut a wedge to fit this space then drill through it and install the bolt as usual.
