02 Headlight Question
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Nov-02 AT 11:14 PM (EST)]I just posted this in the "Constructive Criticism" thread... oh well, no harm repeating it here. You can replace them with "PIAA 9007 Xtreme White Plus" (Model # 19617 - twin pack) or "PIAA 9007 Platinum Super White" (Model # 19607 - twin pack) bulbs. These model #'s are for 92-02 F-Series Ford trucks. I did, and there is a real hecova' difference. I plan on doing my fogs & reverse lights, too. I have had no problems with heat melting wires or anything of that nature, and have been running like this for over 20,000 miles in all sorts of weather.
I went with the Xtreme White Plus because that's what the store I went to had, and I wanted them "NOW". I'm not sure of how the Platinum Super Whites work, but am VERY happy with my choice. I read later that mine are brighter than the Platinums, anyway. I just saw them on http://www.accessconnect.com/store/showdetl.cfm?&DID=16&Product_ID=364&CATID=49 for $61.90 (about $20 less than what I paid) -- you can probably find them for a couple bucks less if you shop around online. The install is simple; just replace the bulbs (MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TOUCH THE GLASS ON THE BULBS WHEN YOU DO THIS!!!). I keep the old factory ones in my truck in case I ever get a burnout.
[font face= "copperplate gothic bold"] I hear a favorite bulb is Sylvania Silver Stars. I do not use them.
I cannot remember the name of what I have but they are 100W/80W. The fogs that I have added are now just really decoration as these bulbs put out a tremendous amount of light. I've had them for about 8months now with no ill effects.

Your fogs still may have some use, since they sit lower than your headlights they willl cut underneath the fog and help illuminate the road. Blue lenses on your fogs will help in snowstorms too.

No. It is mine. I have been experimenting with different fonts. You can see how I did it if you hit "reply with quote" on the message that I wrote. Then you can do it too!
