hi, i have a '97 F-150 4 wheel drive w/104000 mi. the truck has been pretty good so far. leaking back window, 2 oxygen sensors, knocking while cold and terrible spark plug changes. recently the worst has happened. it sqeaks loudly on small bumps. i mean SQUEAKS! it's embarrassing. any suggestions?
thanks
Try spraying down all the bushings in the front end with WD40 or silicone spray. If that doesnt help then you probably have a squeeky ball joint or tie rod end. If you can get it to do it while someone bounces up and down on the bumper you should be able to pinpoint the noise if you crawl underneath and start listening to and feeling each joint as it squeeks.
I had a sliding rear window that also leaked. The dealer put new black silicon between the window frame and the body, didn't work. Finally I ran water from a hose over the roof and it went down the back window. The leak was around the glass itself, not the frame. I squeezed a whole tube of Versachem (I think) glass sealer in the gap, no problems since.
