Hey there and welcome to the Forum! Just an FYI.... Any internal piece of an engine needs lubriction to operate properly. If you know for sure the Shaft/bearing/bushing isn't receiving any lubrication, it's an indication the there isn't any lubriction going on elsewhere in the upper part of the engine as well. Since gravity plays a large part in the oil going back to the oil pan, and there isn't any oil going to the top of the engine....
Oil level- Oil pressure ok. Oil pressure should be 40-60psi.@2000 rpm. If all ok....
There may be a blockage of some type that needs further investigation. Yes, you'll have to remove the valve cover. I don't know if you feel comfortable in doing this or you would rather take it to your mechanic to have checked out.
But it does seem that you have a problem and you can't let it go very long. This is an extremly urgent situation, unless, you have the money for a total engine rebuild! I wouldn't drive it, or run the engine for that matter, until it has been looked at and the problem located then fixed. Just my opinion though.
All I can say is.... No part of the internals of an engine should produce a SQUEAK/SQUEAL/THUD/THUNK/PING, or any other noise that can be described by slang or other terms it takes to describe a noise! Get back to us with a bit more info or if you've discovered the problem. Thanks and we'll talk with you later....
