How to decode door sticker?

Where can I find the codes on my door sticker for my 2002 Expedition? Is there sometype of website I can go to? I want to know what type options it has. Thanks.

It seems like some of my numbers don't match up to what they have. I don't see anything about an Expedition. For example, it doesn't list my axle code of H6 which I was told yesterday was 3.73 LS. Also, are there different levels of tow packages, I wanted to know what level hitch I have. Thanks for your help.

Not all chassis use the same axle codes. Examples:

C1 = 3.73 LS for F-250 with > 8,500 lbs. GVWR

D1 = 3.73 LS for F-350 with single rear wheels

F1 = 3.73 LS for F-350 with dual rear wheels

H6 = 3.73 LS for Expedition/Navigator

H9 = 3.73 LS for F-150

Thanks. It also said that my transmission code is "E" which is the E40D. Is that only transmission available?

Your tranny code indicates the 4R100A. It replaced the E4OD (I think). The 4R70W tranny is also available.

You definately have the 4R100A tranny as designated by the "E" code. It is heavier duty than the 4R70W tranny. To look at them, the 4R100A has 20 bolts and is rectangular. It apparently will also have a drain plug on a 4x4. The 4R70W tranny is a funnier shape and has 14 bolts (i think) and does not have a plug. I read that the "100" in the 4R100A designates 1000 ft-lb of torque capacity while the "70" designates 700.

Ford did not offer multiple levels of optional towing packages on the Expy. However, I don't know what class the hitch is, although I SUSPECT Class IV.

Regarding the E code meaning the 4R100A tranny, does that also apply to a 1999 Expy manufactured 1/99?
