I had one barber that did fine for years. After he retired, I tried one butcher after another. Now I have to drive clear across town to get it cut to my expectations. I could drive 5 minutes but would get a chop job.
I gave up on barbers, and bought some clippers.

Its just not natural for one man to touch another man's hair anyway.
i either use the clippers with no guard or the 1/8" guard ... as soon as it gets longer than that i wear a hat till i get around to cutting it again. laziness is the key factor in my hair length
Mine used to be real long, middle of my back. I cut it after my third child was born. Now I keep if real short, #4 on the sides and blended to the top.
