I was wondering. Why do so many people, hate guys with long hair. I have long hair and so dose my big brother. So I thought I would ask. why do people guys and girls hate men with long hair. I'm not a hippie, and i'm not a drug dealer, hell i've never even thoguht of doing drugs. I've been called a f@g and all other kinds or nice things. the men in the bible have long hair. the big man up stairs has long hair. So why is it so bad.
Why I ask is to day some one told me "Hey I know you dont like it, but you where born a guy, not a girl" So that ended up in a fight.
Thats all, not trying to bith or any thing just kinda wondering.

i grew up in virginia beach,va. and was(still am) a surfer. EVERY guy had long hair! my head is shaved now but i sometimes think about growing it out again. the length of my hair was the last thing i ever thought id get in a fight over!

im with Wiz though........who cares what stupid people say!

 

I don't talk about guys with long hair! Some guys look good with long hair! Heck, I have long hair (ok ok so I am a girl...but still). The point it the people that are making these rude comments are probably insecure of themselves for some reason. Sometimes they feel that by picking on others, this makes them big and "bad". Sometimes they even to it to impress others they are with. But in reality, guys that pick on people are unattractive to us women!

I started to think just about evry one had some thing agenst dudes with long hair. I guess lubbock sucks that bad. But I know now there are still a lot of nice people out there who dont care what you look like as long as your cool... makes me wonna cry

 

Persoanlly,I think you used TWO generalizations.

So Many & Hate.

I really think there might be a few along the way that mght Dislike long hair on a male and ending up saying something rude, But,in most cases one could consider the source.
Many years ago (60's)Long hair was Disliked because it was NEW to the world.
Short well-groomed hair on a male & long hair on female was the accepted way of life.

Things have changes a lot.


To me some old people (Willie Nelson,& few other's) look good with a pony tail.

So My point is :

I think people don't necessarily HATE long hair on a man,they just dislike it or it doesn't look very MANLY & say something to you.That's rude !.... so consider the source.

I don't know what you consider SO MANY though.

3,5,15,25,100 people in what time span ?

Btw, In a world so corrupt & out of control as it is ,I doubt those people who say something to you about your hair would even consider the thought that Jesus had long hair.

It's who you are man! Don't change your appearance for somebody else if you don't want to. I used to have long hair. Now I'm in the Marines. In about eight months I'm going to start growing my hair out again. I'm going to shave it from about halfway up and let the rest grow down to my shoulders as dreadlocks. I just feel like growing dreads because for seven years now, I've been told that I'm not allowed to. Who I am today and who I'll be three years from now really won't be that different. I'll just be able to live my life without so much restriction. Mullets rule!!

 

Hummm....do you think Wild Bill Hickock or Buffalo Bill Cody ever had their masculinity challenged over hair length? Guess you wouldn't hassle anyone wearing multiple weapons.

 

Dude I've had shoulder length hair since I was 11 (27yrs). Never had any trouble with other people. Well I had a bus driver call me sweety one time, but I just I kinda looked at him odd and kept on doin what I was doin.
The last 10 years or so its varied from shoulder length to collar length and once for an interview I had it above my collar.
I like it, my wife likes it and my kids like it. So wooop de do about other people. My son keeps saying he wants long hair too but he'll have to wait till he can look after it himself and beable to take some ribing.

 

Well, I'll never have long hair, but I will always bow to the MULLET! I saw a killer one at the Sevendust concert last week: it was a mullet, trimmed to Mohawk dimensions!! Outstanding!!! I named this beacon of creativity the "Navaho Mullet", but if anybody can think of something better, please chime in. TK

 

Use to have long hair about to my shoulders for three years. Buzzed it for a job, just hair!

 

I used to wear a mullet. I am a rocker. But as the front thins, so does my will to wear a mullet. I now wear a conservative haircut and may shave the whole thing off before too long.

 

The only thing that I have against long hair is that I don't have any, except what grows in my ears these days. When I was young, my hair was long and thick. Now at 50 thin to none on the top and thin on sides. Grow it while you got it, I would if I could. Just don't brush your hair, while talking on a cell phone, putting on make-up, fussing at three kids and a dog while aiming a Surburban down the freeway not using your turn signals. That I don't like.

 

just blow it off. I had long hair in school and had the names thrown at me as well but I never let it bother me. I noticed most of the folks talking smack were bald or balding. Jealousy perhaps? lol.

it's all the boys play with cars with short hair and go to work,while the women with long hair stay home and cook stuff. you know the propaganda the media ingests us with. it's all a bunch of do what makes you happy and whatever will float your boat
