Anyone ever installed foam in their fuel tank to cut down on sloshing? (noise)
I've used plastic bags just floating on top of the water in a bucket when transporting fish... helps a lot. Thought just cutting some strips and feeding them through the filler hole would help some. Assuming the stuff floats!
yeah i do see your point there, about putting the foam in the tank sense its behind the seet, i can see where that would get very annoying, if the racers use it theres no reason why you couldnt use it it would be worth a try, i dont think it would hurt anything.
i know a few guys that have put racing fuel cells in their trucks, the kind you'd get from a place like Summit or Jegs, and have had to take the foam baffleing out because overtime, it would disenegrate and clog their fuel filters. Ive also heard of a few other cases like this on other forums. Just something to think about.
just a suggestion you might think about using sound deading matrial its a peel an stick stuff it comes in a 3x5 roll you can cut it with a knife, about 30-40 bucks, i used it in my 95 f150xl sc it cut the road noise quite a bit, p.s. i also used insulation under the rubber floor,no more cold feet in the winter on long drives
Fuel cell foam is meant to fit snug in the tank, not slosh around in gas. As someone mentioned earlier, it breaks down over time and clogs filters too.
