Based on the Dealer's Service department technician's diagnostic the left (driver's side) catalytic converter has failed. The part is on back order and set to come available on 6 Jul.
I am not sure what could have caused the failure with such low miles. They are supposed to last closer to the 100K mile mark. The truck was running fine and no issues prior to the check engine light popping on. It still appears to run fine. In fact, the service department manager said I could collect my truck and drive it until the new converter comes in. I am quite hesitant to do that since everything I have read up on says otherwise. Any thoughts?
