LED taillights
Probably a dumb question, but what would I have to do to run LED taillights on my flatbed.
I can only find the lights I want in LED.
I’d like to run the stock front turn signals.

Probably just run an LED compatible flasher. I like this one, but they say if you are replacing too many bulbs to get a grounded one instead.

I am in the process of switching to all leds. I had to get electronic flashers (with a ground wire). One thing to note, they only plug in one way, however, mine did not function plugged in that way. I had to make pigtails and reverse the connections in order to get mine to work properly.
So if you get them and they do not work, try reversing them before you start chasing a rabbit that isnt really there.

If you’re running stock filament bulbs up front, the led flasher probably isn’t necessary. There should be enough resistance to make the old style flasher work. Nothing wrong with replacing the old mechanical flasher with an electronic one. One of those “while you’re in there” kind of things.

Which is why LEDs DON'T work with standard flashers.
Current draw is what makes a standard flasher function - a byproduct of LOWER resistance.
This is why the resistors that are sometimes required for proper flasher operation are wired in PARALLEL to the stop/turn power and ground wiring.

With that rationale, will a LED specific flasher work with regular bulbs? I’m in a situation where I’m rebuilding with LED taillights but regular headlights

Ive been running all LED rears, fronts, and side runnings for about a year. Just bought the whatever brand off Amazon and have been mostly happy with them.
Also could install relays to trigger the side markers to act as turns too. It’s on my to do list just not very high at the moment.
