Recently got an over the air upgrade to my truck computer. 2024 XLT with 7.3. Android Auto will not show Google Maps on the truck screen now? Sirius XM shows up on the screen with nice new graphics, but I can't get the map to come up in the truck in any way. Rebooted the truck radio with no joy. Anyone else have this?
I also recently got the OTA upgrade for the windows not going up. After the upgrade the voice on Android Auto(AA) changed from female to male. Also, AA automatically starts SiriusXM even though I set it to not start streaming music. Finally, It seems that AA is starting other programs in my phone such that my phone battery drains much faster than days when I don't drive my truck much.

The OTA and the AA upgrade are unrelated. AA now uses the Gemini AI which changed the voice among other things. The search with Gemini does seem to work better than the basic google search.

You may need to go into AA on your phone and select google maps unless you can do it from the screen. Also, go to your phone and ensure google maps isn't in power restricted mode.

Yep. Betting it was a phone update to AA that caused this, your truck doesn't really back-feed into your phone other than to communicate.
This is why I like my iphone set to 'download only' when it comes to updates. It 1. gives me the option of when to do the update and 2. lets me know that one is ready, so that the next morning if things are monkey'd up on the truck, I am at least somewhat prepared for it.
I was able to solve it but it was a huge pain. I checked all my phone settings, including power restrictions, rebooted the truck radio, rebooted my phone. Then I could not get it to reconnect for a day. This mornimg I plugged my.phone into the usb in the truck with a cord and was able to reconnect, and the map then came up properly. Worked fine from south Texas all the way to northern Alabama today, so appears.to be fixed. I cannot say which specific action fixed it.
