First start of the 2026 driving season. Turned the ignition switch, the Jarvik 7 kicked on and pushed the start button and a few revolutions and the F-2 came to life
First time it's run since our return from Kentucky in October. After our abrupt end of our trip I just didn't want anything to do with the old girl. Charged the battery and it came to life which gave a boost of energy. I need to figure out the problem with charging system and then onto getting my pups used to riding in it because we going to be doing a lot of errands with it over the summer.
I gave my truck a little love. I got the new Gennie Shifter installed... ...mostly. I still need to fit the trans cover back into place and install the boot, but its driveable. And, I like it!
I took a load of crap to the swap meet this weekend and made some spending money so I think its time to bite the bullet and replace the leaking Toyota steering box. I'm going to order it tonight.
...or maybe tomorrow....
It sounded good, Bob. I had to Google Jarvic 7 but I get it now.
Was you problem last fall just a charging problem?
Abe, I think it was, I haven't dove into yet. I have a feeling my generator gave up the ghost. It's an old unit, probably needs a rebuild. I have a place locally that I think will rebuild it for around $45.

I took mine out yesterday, had to get the gas cans for the lawn mowers filled. About a thirty mile round trip without any issues and many thumbs up...I love this old truck!!! My co-pilot

I got my F-2 on the road, I think, 30 years ago. Did all the work must, $500 in paint (now I'm sure it has to be at least $1500 in paint, probably another $250 in body supplies. All through the last 30 years I think I dumped another $3-4K into it with tune ups, two sets of tires and engine rebuild I did myself for $1500 in parts, my labor, and more blood.
No $50K available, only a lot of sweat, years and blood, literally.
