I got a 1976 f250 recently and i was told it had ben swapped over to a 460 during the sale i was skeptical but no use arguing ya know. I believe it to be a FE motor but i have no idea what one i believe its a 390. things whooped and needs rebuilt i just wanna know what it might be for a parts list and all. the Engine has a 4bbl cast intake and a 3 3/4 stroke ( measured in a verry hill Billy way so take that with a grain of salt) pictures are all the cast numbers i could fined on block and intake any help will be great. block intake stroke
If the motor is 100% original (not pieced together from multiple engines), then it's a 390 from a T-bird. The C2AE-C intake to best of my memory was only used in that application. If it has the original wedge shaped carb spacer, those are getting to be hard to find in good condition.
The only way to be 100% sure is to tear it apart and do a full inspection of the internals. Casting numbers on the crank/rods and measure the bore.
I'd like to see how the engine mounts are fabricated as that's an early EARLY block that only has the two bolt bosses on either side of the block vs. the four of the 64-ish (C4xx casting).
